Structural designs that work on paper and on site

Structural designs that work on paper and on site

Structural engineering shapes how an asset can be built, operated and maintained. Our team considers both the finished structure and how it will be constructed, drawing on experience in operating environments.

We design, assess and verify structures across transport, industrial and manufacturing, water, mining, energy, government and property infrastructure. Our services can support different stages of the asset lifecycle, from concept and detailed design to construction support, condition assessment and remediation.

With experience in permanent and temporary works, we can support clients in considering design intent and buildability together for relevant structures on major infrastructure projects, complex brownfield sites and greenfield projects.

Our services

What we do

We support asset owners, government, contractors and developers across the structural engineering projects and asset stages. Our experience includes commercial and industrial buildings, transport infrastructure, bridges, retaining walls, gantries, water and process infrastructure, maritime structures and moving plant.

Forensic engineering

Investigating structural failures and damage to support insurers, loss adjusters and remediation decisions.

Industrial structures

Design, assessment and upgrades of industrial buildings, platforms, walkways, tanks and bulk materials handling assets.

Maritime structures

Design, condition assessment and remediation of wharves, jetties, seawalls, lighthouses and coastal protection structures.

Proof engineering

Independent design verification and third-party review for bridges, structures, geotechnical and temporary works.

Wind turbine foundations

Structural design and proof engineering of wind turbine generator foundations, with a focus on constructability using advanced FEA modelling and analysis methods.

Gantry signs

Structural design, verification and proof engineering for gantry signs, variable message sign gantries, temporary signs and overhead sign structures.

Our approach

How we approach structural engineering

Experience in complex brownfield environments

Experience in complex brownfield environments

Much of our work happens inside operating assets: ports, mines, industrial plants, maritime structures and ageing transport. We are comfortable in brownfield environments where as-built drawings may be missing, structures have been modified over decades, and downtime is expensive. Our teams use laser scanning, ultrasonic testing and condition surveys to develop a clearer picture of the existing structure, then design modifications, upgrades or new connections that respond to the existing site constraints.
